The BALI Chalk National Student of the Year presentations are a highlight of the annual British Association of Landscape Industries National Landscape Awards. Last Friday (5 December 2025) was no different, with Student Winners Chloë Webster from KLC West Dean ( Garden Design) and Archie Matthews from Myerscough College (Landscape and Horticulture) joining Trustee Chair Nick Coslett on stage to receive their certificates.
The event, hosted this year by comedian Maisie Adam, brings together contractors, suppliers, designers, supporters and landscape dignitaries. Mingling with today’s landscape leaders, the Student Winners made the most of the opportunity as this recognised industry springboard gives them first person access, support, encouragement, contacts and recognition as their career’s develop.
Archie and Chloë were joined at the Awards by their college lecturers, Tracey Howarth (Myerscough) and Humaira Ikram (KLC West Dean) who had nominated them for their attitude, achievement and professionalism at a regional level before the overall winners were assessed and determined by the BALI Chalk Board of Trustees. Both Myerscough College and KLC West Dean also receive a £500 Award for their support of student successes.
