About the BALI Chalk Fund

About us

The BALI Chalk Fund was established in 1975 with a legacy from the widow of Geoffrey Chalk, owner of Gavin Jones Ltd. and founder member of the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI).

Since this date, the Fund has received other bequests and donations and has also benefited from specific BALI Charitable Fund Raising activities.

Our Purpose:

The fund is used to support education and training in the landscape sector and has established strong links with BALI’s GoLandscape initiative and other like minded organisations to assist with delivering its key objectives.

Funding Activity:

Over recent years, the Chalk fund has awarded cash prizes to top landscape students at many of the Uk’s landbased colleges.

The trust’s current primary focus is to establish and develop an effective enrichment programme designed to ensure that graduates enter the workforce with the necessary skills, knowledge and where required certification the industry requires, making them highly employable, work ready individuals.
