Top Garden Design Student Nomination Announced

Catharine Beck has been recognised by KLC School of Design as their BALI Chalk Fund – Garden Design Student of the Year for 2023. Catharine passed her Garden Design Diploma with distinction, and Course Leader Humaira Ikram said “an excellent student, Catharine was quick to learn and her projects, especially her construction file were impressive, comprehensive and exciting, gaining her the London Stone Award for Construction”. Catharine’s perfect attendance and exceptional work ethic were also worthy of note.

Perhaps then its no particular surprise that Catharine has since found a position amongst the esteemed team at Ann-Marie Powell Gardens, where she is already putting her talents to great use, creating planting plans, tree plans (including fruit tree selection with pollination partnerships) concept presentations, lighting plans, construction detail drawings and specifications, maintenance and plant schedules, plant nursery quotations, materials research and selection.

Catharine receives a cheque for £100 from the BALI Chalk Fund, and is entered into the National Competition where the successful candidate and their training provider each win £500, and a ticket to the prestigious BALI National Landscape Awards in December, at the Grosvenor House, London, where they will be presented with their cheques.

The trustees wish Catharine all the best in her career.
