Congratulations to Josh Crouch from Merrist Wood College. Josh, studying for his Level 2 Horticulture and Landscaping BTEC, has been selected as one of our 2026 Landscape and Horticulture Students of the Year for the South Thames region.
Josh has had his “a-ha” moment where he realises that the landscape sector is exactly where he’s meant to be. With a genuine excitement for the next phase of his career, he has been putting his theoretical skills into practice on a recent fencing and planting job with his father and is considering whether to start on his own or continue supporting his father’s business.
Taking the lead in group work and landscape classes, he shares on-site knowledge openly and encourages team mates to aim for the highest end results and a high quality finish at all times.
Landscaping Lecturer Peter Duignan says that Josh is a hard-working, driven and dedicated student, adding:
“Josh takes real pride in what he achieves both at college and is always keen to show pictures and evidence of what he has completed during his work experience placement. He is serious about making his way in the industry and we look forward to seeing him move into full time employment/business ownership.”
