Winner of the BALI Chalk Funds Top Student award, <Jo Bloggs> pocketed £500 in prize money for himself and in addition, his college Capel Manor in Enfield North London also received a cheque for £500, which they chose to spend on a new cement mixer for the landscape department.
Chalk Fund Trustee Richard Gardiner said “We wanted to recognise the colleges role in producing great students, talent will take you so far, but that talent needs inspiring and nurturing, and the team at Capel Manor are a real driving force, consistently producing great students, this is one of the reasons they were also selected as a pilot college for our innovative enrichment programme (maybe this could be linked to another story about the programme), I have asked for the students name and also asked for a quote from the college specifically about this.
